Some of our friends were in town this weekend, so the bf and I went out with ‘em to a thai restaurant downtown called Silver Spoon. It’s a great deal for tasty authentic thai dishes that I’d recommend anyone on a budget. ![]()

Mixed Vegetables with Chicken
Mixed Vegetables stir- fried broccoli, baby corn, onions, mushrooms, bell pepper in a soy sauce

Thoughts: The rice went SO well in the sauce I devoured the full bowl. The vegetables were fresh, but there were only a measly 3 or 4 pieces of chicken in the dish.

Thai green curry with shrimp!
a typical green curry with eggplants simmered coconut milk with distinctive flavors of lemon grass and sweet basil leaves
Thoughts: A delicious smooth, sweet, and spicy green curry. I love the fresh shrimp, the thin crunchy slices of bamboo shoots, and the slices of eggplant that have soaked up all the sweet coconut milk in the curry. So tasty I couldn’t stop until I realized my mouth was on fire!

RATINGS:
Overall: 3.5/5
Taste: 3.5/5 (All the dishes we’ve had here are spot-on, just not “impressive”)
Plating: 3/5 (Nothing unique here)
Originality: 3.5/5 (A simple, straightforward menu with not many surprises, but a good selection of thai salads are available!)
Value: 4.5/5 (with coupon)
Service: 3.5/5 (Patient servers who know what they’re doing. Unfortunately, they don’t allow for any substitutions, such as switching out bbq pork for chicken)
