It’s been a few months since I last updated. I know I’ve been MIA with the comments but I’ve been following you all – yup, even through the HLS, which I unfortunately missed due to travels and moving.
My very lucky taste buds have been eating their way through Hong Kong, Cancun, LA, Malibu…and now, BOSTON!! I’ll be reporting to you live, the life and gripes and food from the perspective of a poor dental student, but hopefully it’ll be fascinating too! If you ever wanted to know how dentists were educated or what dentists eat…maybe LTB will shed some light on that.
Garlic “Tong Choi” from Fuk Lum Moon, HK dimsum restaurant.
Grilled MahiMahi with Coleslaw and Rice Pilaf from Malibu Seafood.
Cha Cha Chicken from Cha Cha Chicken at Santa Monica Pier.

While I settle in, I’d love if any of you familiar with Boston’s dining scene to drop a comment or 2 below! I welcome all recommendations! And if you’re not familiar with Beantown, tell me what you’ve been up to!!!! Don’t give up on me yet.
On a side note, CSN has a lot of options for twin beds for me to furnish this little home of mine at a good price!

Ok holy drool! Tong choy from HK is the best, especially on the streets. Sorry, I’ve never been to Boston so I’ve no input for you there. Looks like you had a pretty good trip from these yummy pics. Have fun with the furnishing!
oh Michelle, I missed you!!!! It has been a while you updated. I knew you were traveling a lot, but not that much!! I guess you’re trying to take the advantage of last summer before school begins! I hope you’re finding your new life exciting and fun!
Welcome back to blogging! Yay!
I went to school in Boston for four years, so I have lots!
I was glad to get out of Boston and quit being cold, but coming from Chicago you’re probably used to it.
If you want to try Afghan food (and you do!), go to The Helmand in Cambridge. I think it is my favorite restaurant in Boston.
The best brunch I’ve ever had was at Masa (Mexican fusion type stuff- their version of eggs benedict with avocado and chipotle hollandaise blew my mind), and if you go on Saturday it’s like $8 for three courses.
Kick Ass Cupcakes in Sommerville kicks ass. As does Dave’s Fresh Pasta (which is not a restaurant but you can get crazy delicious ravioli to go) and it’s just down the street. And there’s a fun movie theater in Sommerville.
Cafe Jaffa on Newbury Street has awesome falafel. And unlike most places on Newbury Street, isn’t crazy overpriced.
My favorite sushi is at Symphony Sushi. It’s owned by the same people who own Fin, which is where the cool people go, but the sushi at Symphony is just as delicious and the vibe is way more laid back.
That’s just off the top of my head! Hope the food keeps you warm
hey lady! i have missed you, great to see a new post in my reader. welcome back!
Do poor dental students get JP LICKS?!?! That’s the one thing I miss to death from living in Boston. Have one for me!!
Hey Michelle!! finally you are back ! My update speed is even faster than you, LOL…
I actually just come back from Boston for the job conference. I have to say– I am addicted. There are so many great place to eat . Try the Dauzo (Japanese food) close to copley place. Great food, reasonable price (especially lunch). I am sure you won’t be disappointed. Also for Thai food: chili duck and basil thai. M’mmm. awesome !
Wait, did you move to Boston, or are you still in Chicago?
