That’s Right. POUND CAKE. muhahahahaha.

This recipes makes 1 whole loaf tin & then some, which I “captured” in my ramekins. 🙂



  • 2 ¼ cups flour
  • 1.5 cups granulated white sugar (0.5 cup brown sugar if you like)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel or lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4C milk
  • 2 heaping Tablespoons of dark cocoa powder


  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees
  • Combine all dry ingredients in medium bowl
  • Combine all wet ingredients in large bowl
  • Gradually combine dry ingredients into wet
  • Take out 0.5 of the mixture and combine with cocoa powder
  • PAM your loaf pan and sprinkle a coating of granulated sugar on the surface (see picture below)
  • Alternate pouring of vanilla/choco mixtures into loaf pan
  • Swirl mixtures with a knife/chopstick
  • Bake for ~1 hour or until a toothpick comes out clean
