Balance Says: “Quick, Convenient, and the perfect combination of taste and nutrition. Each variety helps provide the energy and nutrition you need to take on your busy day.”

Michelle says: These are some of the most overwhelmingly sweet bars I’ve tasted. It is a very rich, compact bar that has a chewy (sometimes grainy) consistency. Definitely takes quite a bit of water to down one of these to dilute the concentrated sweetness. They do the job well (fills you up and makes you feel like you’re eating a candy bar) and is a great pre-workout snack if you have little time on your hands.

Balance Bare in Trail Mix Cinnamon Oats & Honey

Michelle says: This bar has AMAZING flavor. I really have to say, this is my favorite Balance Bar ever, reminding me slightly of a luna bar crossed with a kashi Go Lean! bar, but without the chemical after-taste!!

Taste: If you close your eyes, I want to say this was just like a nuttier, chewier version of an iced oatmeal cookie. Lots of cinnamon, lots of almonds, airing on the side of being a little too sweet, but it was like a “healthy” treat! Oooh and it smelled so good…

Texture: Chewy, the top was sticky, I liked the yogurt coating on the base, and very nutty! There were almonds wedged all throughout the bar and gave a great crunch to the bar!!

Verdict: 9/10!! I will totally buy this again!

Balance Carbwell Caramel ‘n Chocolate

Nutritional Info: 190 Calories, 7g fat, 23g carbs, 1g fiber, 14g protein

Balance says: “Manage your carb intake while indulging your taste buds. BALANCE CarbWell Caramel ‘n Chocolate blends two great flavors you’ve always loved. With only 2g of net carbs, you’ll feel good inside and out”

Michelle says: Again…overwhelmingly sweet. Although I did like the lower carb content, the texture overall was very grainy inside the bar. There is a thin layer of gooey caramel just under the surface of the chocolate shell that I enjoyed. It definitely felt like eating a candy bar that was chewy-yet-flaky at the same time. Definitely not as indulgent-tasting or looking as Caramel nut blast or almond brownie, but still surprisingly “not bad at all” for a low carb bar.

Score: 7/10 (I am leaning towards buying this again. The low carbs and high protein is a plus for sure)

Peanut and yogurt

Taste: I like my bars chewy, and this is definitely a sticky and fudgy bar with a dense and filling texture. It’s also got bits of super crunchy fake peanuts that are kind of fun to bite into. Unfortunately, this bar is very much all and only sweetness with an artificial nut flavor that doesn’t get me particularly excited. It also freaks me out that there are so many ingredients that go into this but it comes out as a lump of unknown “product”.
