Michelle says: YES….do enjoy! They are as a group deliciously sweet  like a candy bar, chewy so you get to work your jaw a little, and satisfying so your body is fueled between meals or pre-workout!


Kashi Go Lean Crunchy! Chocolate Caramel

Michelle says: I like it when manufacturers don’t lie. YES i had big hunks of caramel corn and YES i loved the chocolate on the bottom. More importantly, I loved that Kashi packed protein, nutrients, and vitamins all into this one bar that tastes good but is also good for your body. The texture is rather chewy and is a very sticky bar on its own, but what do you expect, this is like caramel! for real! 🙂

GO LEAN crunchy! Chocolate Almond


Nutritional Info: 170 Calories, 5g fat, 27g carbs, 5g fiber, 8g protein

Kashi says: “This delicious blend of rich chocolate and toasted almonds is a dream come true.”

Michelle says: I truly appreciate the fact that the chocolate in Kashi bars don’t taste bitter (i.e. Luna S’mores bar). It is NOT overwhelmingly sweet and although there are no almonds in visible sight, nor did I truly taste any, it was an enjoyable bar to devour.  The texture is rather chewy, but does not require lots of liquids to flush it down your throat, unlike some other denser or sweeter bars. I do however feel like if I were going for the nut/chocolate combo, I’d default back to the Luna White Chocolate Macadamia. Plus, the higher calories, fat, and carb count aren’t worth it considering I actually like the caramel n’ chocolate bar better!

GO LEAN crunchy! Chocolate Peanut

Kashi says: “This is a blissful combination of decadent chocolate and roasted peanut butter.”

Michelle says: This was a truly delicious bar that is exactly what Kashi promises. The bar definitely had peanuts and peanut butter incorporated into it, although not overwhelming like many soft granola bars. There was just enough chocolate flavor so it was a great complement to the PB. The texture was chewy and satisfying as usual thanks to the Go Lean crunch cereals. I am definitely more satisfied with this bar than the other Kashi Crunchy’s and kept me satieted and well-energized for a full workout!

TLC Chewy Granola Bar – Trail Mix


Nutritional Info: 140 Calories, 5g fat, 20g carbs, 5g fiber, 6g protein

Kashi says: “With whole, roasted almonds, succulent, sun-dried fruit, toasted sunflower seeds and a touch of wildflower honey, our Trail Mix granola bars have 4g of Fiber and 6g of Protein.”

Michelle says: A perfect blend of nutty-ness, sweetness, and fruitiness, this bar delivers everything you’d want in a sweet snack. It is definitely a chewy, soft, and sticky bar, but delivers crunch and wholesome ingredients that you can actually see! I love the large pieces of almonds, pumpkin seeds, oats, and sunflower seeds that are ever-so-abundant throughout. It makes you wonder why you’d ever go back to the the Nature’s Path trail mix bar after one of these! They are the perfect snack to hold you over till your next meal mid-day!

TLC Chewy Granola Bar – Cherry Dark Chocolate


Nutritional Info: 120 Calories, 2g fat, 24g carbs, 4g fiber, 6g protein

Kashi says: “With rolled grains, lightly sweetened red tart cherries and dark chocolate, our Cherry Dark Chocolate granola bars have 4g of Fiber and 5g of Protein.”

Michelle says: I love the mini dark chocolate chips in this bar! Every bite is sweet, a little fruity, and a little chocolatey. This is also a chewy bar that sticks to the wrapper and fingers that can be fun to eat! Definitely keeps hunger at bay for at least an hour and great for a sweet treat!

Kashi GO LEAN Roll! Caramel Peanut


Nutritional Info: 200 Calories, 5g fat, 29g carbs, 6g fiber, 12g protein

Kashi says: “The peanut butter center is surrounded by smooth caramel and rolled in roasted peanuts, crisps, and whole grains.”

Michelle says: This bar is definitely super sweet on the inside and might I say “rock hard” in the center! I liked the light crisps on the outside as well as the thin layer of caramel that surrounded the tube of PB center. I was surprised at how tough the bar was to chew so it gave my jaw a workout for sure. Towards the end of the bar, it almost got TOO sweet. I’m definitely pleased with how satiated and energized for my workout I felt after eating it though!!

Score: 7.5/10 (Would buy this again, but I’d try other products first – something less sweet and jaw-intensive)


Kashi GO LEAN Roll! Chocolate Turtle


Nutritional Info: 190Calories, 5g fat, 28g carbs, 6g fiber, 12g protein

Kashi says: “A chocolate center is surrounded by smooth caramel and rolled in toasted pecans, crisps, and whole grains.”

Michelle says: A problem with all the Kashi Roll bars is how overly sweet the centers are. Without the unsweetened crispy flakes the wrap the roll, it would be too overwhelming! Another issue with the bar is just how hard and chewy the core is. Literally it looks like a fudgesicle wrapped with crisp flakes except the “fudgsicle” center is harder to bite off than to chew. Once you DO get it off though, the flavor is lightly chocolate-y and a little bit peanut-y. Apart from that, it’s a pretty standard tasting bar. It definitely fueld my workout though and provided longer-than-average levels of satiety!

Score: 6.5/10 (Would buy this again, but I’d try other products first – something less sweet and jaw-intensive)
