Gnu Says: “Flavor & Fiber. Together at Last. One Gnu Bar a day gives you 12 grams of seriously good-for-you soluble and insoluble fiber. That’s nearly 50% of your Daily Value of fiber in a delicious and healthy bar!”
Michelle says: “LOVE the super-high fiber count in all the bars. I also appreciate how the bars are not overly sweetened but still retain a light, fruity flavor. They are moist and a tad chewy, all of which makes for a fabulous snack! Sadly, some bars have these mini-pearls with a strange chewy-crunch embedded throughout the bar that is a little bit of a turn-off for me.”
Banana Walnut Bar
Stats: 140 Calories, 4g fat, 30g carbs, 12g fiber, 4g protein
Gnu says: “The Banana Walnut Gnu Bar is chock full of delicious bananas and chunky walnuts. The aroma and taste will remind you of fresh, home-baked banana bread.”
Michelle says: “Light banana flavor, check. Pieces of walnuts embedded throughout, check. soft, moist, and fragrant? CHECK! The only thing I have to complain about is the min-pearls of I-don’t-know-what’s that contribute to a crunch-chewy texture that is frankly, not my favorite. Overall, a great snack and I’m thankful for its light-ness in sugars.
Verdict: 7.5/10 (Love the fiber, like the flavor!)
Peanut Butter Bar
Stats: 140 Calories, 5g fat, 30g carbs, 12g fiber, 4g protein
Gnu says: “The Peanut Butter Gnu Bar has baked-in peanut chunks and a yummy, nutty taste. It’s a delicious and healthy way to get the peanut-y taste you love and the fiber you need.”
Michelle says: “ANYtime you can get so much fiber in such a tasty bar, sign me up!!! Taste-wise, this bar had only a very light PB flavor with an almost almond-like after-taste, which is awesome! The tiny pieces of fruit baked into the bar gives it some natural sweet and tartness that gives it a special kick. Texture-wise, it is moist, soft, and reminds me alot of Odwalla bars. However, it is far less chewy, and is slightly crumbly.
Verdict: 8/10 (Love the fiber, like the flavor!)
