Holey Donuts says, “Did you know the average donut has 15-20 grams of fat and as much as 480 calories? Our patented cooking process avoids deep frying, creating a light, fluffy donut with as little as 3-4 grams of fat and 150-250 calories. You’d actually have to eat 4 of our full-sized, delicious donuts to get the amount of fat in just one traditional donut. What’s more amazing is that we do not use any artificial sweeteners or fat substitutes to make our great tasting donuts. Unlike other “lite” or low fat foods, nothing about these donuts tastes low fat. Our donuts are hand-made, flash frozen and delivered via express mail to arrive at your door, picture perfect and delicious! Keep in your freezer for a great low fat and low calorie treat anytime!”
Michelle Says, I never thought I’d be such a huge donut fan until i had me some holey donuts. You would have NO IDEA it was so much better for you than their full-fat cousins from how good they taste. Holey does an incredible job of making their products taste wonderful and sinful…beware, they may be dangerously addictive!!! The concept of Holey is NOT to make a “healthy” donut, but a better-for-you donut…so make sure you don’t get confused by the nutritional stats!!

A. There is a huge difference between Low Fat and only being Trans Fat free. Many donut companies are jumping on the trans fat free bandwagon but those donuts are still deep fried and loaded with fat and calories. Trans Fat free only means the donuts don’t contain harmful trans fats, which is good but that’s only half the story. Only Holey Donuts!® has a unique cooking process that avoids deep frying altogether, creating a truly “low fat” donut and we have always had zero Trans Fats even before it was so chic.
Q. Does Holey Donuts! use artificial sweeteners?
A. No, we do not use any artificial sweeteners or fat substitutes like Olestra. As such, our donuts are healthy and safe whether you are an expectant mother or just concerned about what is in the foods you enjoy.
Jumbo Reduced-Fat Cinnamon Rolls
Stats: 340 Calories, 5g fat, 68g carbs, 29g sugar, 2g fiber, 8g protein
Compare with Cinnabon: 730-1100 Calories, 24g fat
Taste and Texture: I can’t even express how delicious this tastes after 30 seconds in the microwave. This is not a ridiculously drenched in icing as the cinnabon, and instead has a fantastic soft apple stuffed swirl that resonates with cinnamony-sugary sweetness. This is a fluffy roll that tastes like you just baked it from the oven, but can get to be a little too sweet!
Verdict: 8/10. Just too big and WAY too much sugar for me, but I would eat this over a cinnabon ANY DAY!!!
Low-fat Lemon Vanilla Donut Holes
Stats (per 4 holes): 170 Calories, 3.5g fat, 31g carbs, 14g sugar, 1g fiber, 3.5g protein
Compare with Dunkin Donuts Munchikins: 200 Calories, 10g fat
I tested out one straight from the box. Here it is after a visit to the microwave for 30 seconds. I ADORE the GOOEY inside flavors of sweet and tart lemon-flavored sticky heaven. They’re simply “better for you donuts” that taste just as good, if not BETTER than the full fat ones!
Flavor & Texture (after microwaving): Reminds me of a lemon meringue stuffed eclaire glazed with vanilla syrup. Refreshingly gooey and tart on the inside balanced by the super, sweet soft and puffy shell delivers a boost of sugary deliciousness to your taste buds. This feels so satisfying that you don’t need to go above a serving of 4 at all!
Verdict: 9/10!!!! I must say, I love eating them straight out of the freezer as well as microwaved. They’re not “GOOD” for you per se, but nobody said donuts were! They are definitely the best tasting donut hole/eclairs I have ever had and they are not BAD for you!
