It’s a BIG bad giveaway, and here’s what it’s all about!
I really do love giving away things and sharing with others the stuff that I love. I can’t thank you all enough for reading and supporting Lucky Taste Buds through the months, and your thoughtful comments sometimes become the highlight of my day.
This giveaway is dedicated to a few goals I’ve set for myself on my birthday. I hope you’ll join me by entering the giveaway!
- Living as green in as many ways possible. Walk more, print double-sided, eat sustainable food, eliminate buying bottles and extra packing.
- Be more adventurous! Experimenting outside of my foodie comfort zone – I admit, I always order the smoked salmon eggs benedict or squash-anything off a menu. I have also never set foot in an Ethiopian or Irish restaurant in my life but I would love to.
- To read and be able to understand the “ingredients” in the ingredient section of nutrition labels, not only look at numbers.
- Not to take myself too seriously sometimes. “Perfectionism” does not exist.
- To be more giving in every way possible!
Prizes:
There will be 3 winners total…
1 winner will win an entire Sodastream soda-lovers machine and starter pack (valued at ~$100)
2 winners will win 2 jars each of Krema’s delicious all-natural (aka Crazy Richard’s) smooth and chunky peanut butter
How the giveaway works:
1) Read the reviews for whichever prizes you’d like to win and follow the directions on the post…
2) If you’d like to be entered for 3 extra entries, comment on THIS post why you think the goals above pertain to both of the prizes.
3) For another 3 extra entries, link back to THIS post too!
BOTH contests open to US resident only and end at midnight on November 30th! The best Month of the year!
Happy birthday to youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu 😀 I can’t enter, but doesn’t mean I can’t sing to you, right?! LOVE your goals! I am trying to be more adventurous when I eat out too- new rule for me: don’t order anything I can make at home. That covers turkey sandwiches 😛
The goals you outlined pertain to both products b/c both products are more natural, healthier, greener alternatives to either soda or transfat laden nut butters:)
Hope that’s enough for my extra 3 entries. Great contest Michelle! & Happy Bday!!!!!
happy biiiirthday!
goals are to stick with natural ingredients that can be made at home!
I think they pertain to this post because I’ve tried Krema and I know how simple it is yet flavorful, and it’s a good testament to getting back to the earth and simplicity. I’ve never experienced soda stream but it seems like an economical and friendly way to stop waste both monetary and refuse
The soda stream would be green because you wouldn’t be wasting all that aluminum or plastic to make the bottles, the whole idea of making your own soda is definitely new and different, there wouldn’t be ingesting all those scary chemicals found in regular or diet soda, and you’d be giving a lucky reader the gift of healthy soda! I’m not sure how peanut butter is green, I was hoping the website would say something about using recycled materials or something, but no. Moving on, trying spicy peanut butter is definitely adventurous, the ingredient list for the peanut butter is extremely clean, and again – you’re giving a lucky reader a chance to try a fun, new product you found!
I Tweeted about this because I REALLY want that Krema Nut Butter! Ok, so I think the Krema nut butter pertains to your goals because, form looking at your previous post, it’s an ADVENTUROUS purchase! I mean, SPICY peanut butter?! You can’t get more adventurous than that! And, the label will help you understand ingredients better because, well, there aren’t many 🙂 It’s all natural and very healthy in terms of the ingrdients that are in it (I live near the Krema factory!! It always smells so delicious when I drive by).
GREAT giveaway!
Oh, I’m following you too by the way 🙂
ok in backwards order here is my link back http://runtothefinish.blogspot.com/2009/11/opinions-wanted-friday-gifts.html
these goals are in line with these two products because soda stream is new, fun and green! PB? mmm……. because it’s something new?
anyway! I need to follow these goals too, I find myself too often in my comfort zone!
and more importantly I need to learn #4 and #5. thanks for reminding me dear! you’re my inspiration! 😀
The soda stream is obviously green because it is resuable and saves money and energy resources used to package and process soda, and the PB is green because we all know those containers are reusable. Being more adventurous applies to the soda machine because think of how many adventures you can have creating your own soda, and the spicy PB I saw that they make is adventurous. For label reading you already know what you are getting with the soda since you make it and control the ingredients and with the PB the ingredients are so simple. As for not taking yourself so seriously, look at all the fun that comes along with a soda machine and as for the PB you can have a good time and a good laugh experimenting with PB and getting it stuck to the roof of your mouth. And to be more giving, well just share the foods you make with both of these giveaways.
Thanks for the great give away. I’ve had fun entering. Glad I have found your blog.
happy birthday!! those are some wonderful goals, particularly to read ingreds NOT JUST for numbers. i think greener living is also especially important in the current econ – of course theres no bad time to be environmentally friendly, right?
to be honest, ive never tried that PB and it really annoys me when products claim they are “all natural” which is a term that is not FDA regulated. so natural may mean zippo but its still peanut butter, and im still a foodie, hence my desire to win 🙂
the soda stream is very environ friendly bc itll eliminate several cans/bottles… i just hope the plastic it comes in is recyclable too!
pick me pick me pick meeeeeeee
Fantastic goals! And they pertain to both the prizes because the two yummy prizes can be incorporated into a more healthful, conscious lifestyle
I’m not enterting, but happy birthday!!! 🙂 Love your goals!
By the way, I’m posting about the giveaway too! 🙂
Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I’m such a b*tch. In all my excitement I didn’t even say happy birthday!!
First off, I love your goals. The sodastream is green cause it eliminates all the aluminum cans that’d accumulate from buying soda or sparkling water. You could also reuse the PB jars. You could totally experiment with new flavors with that sodastream–making your own flavored sparkling water and everything 🙂 And all those PB flavors can be used creatively–hot n’ spicy pb is definitely exciting!
You could read the ingredients list for the sodastream mixes, but you also have control of making your own beverages. And the natural PB is JUST peanuts. Can’t go wrong there! The fun sodastream is perfect for not taking yourself too seriously–it’s like being a kid with a Willy-Wonka soda machine. haha! And hot n’ spicy pb is out of the ordinary.
You’re totally giving away this stuff, so I think goal 5 is way accomplished. And this is the end of my novel, lol 😉 and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Hope you had a great birthday!! The prizes relate to your goals in many ways. First, that Spicy PB..I have never tried a savory PB like that and so I think that is going out of the norm. Also, both are products that would not normally have short simple ingredients yet they are made more natural and have great readable ingredient lists! And last, you could use your own cups to drink the soda out of instead of buying plastic cups with pop in them! Thanks again for the opportunity!
Happy Birthday Michelle! 🙂 Great goals!
Your goals for sure pertain to both prizes. I love your goal about focusing on ingredients, not calories.
Yes, diet soda has zero calories, but it has a lot of fake stuff. Making your own carbonated water is zero calories and no crap! And if you throw in some all-natural fruit juice, who cares if there’s a few calories lurking about?
Same with the PB on naturalness. I think all peanut butter should just have a one word ingredient list: “peanuts”. As long as your ingredients are wholesome, you should eat what you want of ’em. No one ever did their body any harm with monounsaturated fatty acids, even if you don’t measure down to the ounce to determine the exact caloric implications!
WHY did I not know it was your birthday sooner. I’m pissed at you now.
haha I keeeed
I thiiink that these prizes apply to your new faaabulous goals because well the ingreeeds are very transparent in that you know exactly whats going in them 🙂 and well i think making your own soda is adventurous!
HAPPY BIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTHDAAAAAAAAAAAAY
Happy birthday again, ichelle! I linked this morning http://foodmakesfunfuel.com/2009/11/21/i-go-back/
The sodastream is definitely a great way to be green, and the pb is an example of the importance of label reading! The more you know, the better choices you can make!
i love to be able to actually read the ingredient list and pronounce everything/know what everything is!!!
I forgot to say : Happy Birthday :-)) most of my friends having birthday in Nov and Dec, so interesting!
Oh my gosh, the sodastream is a fun way to make soda that you know what’s inside, and it’s definitely a green alternative to buying cans or plastic bottles of soda! As for the peanut butters, they’re all-natural, so you can understand the minimal ingredients (Peanuts!), and peanut butter is definitely a food where focusing on the nutrition and ingredients rather than just the calories is important! Thanks for the giveaway shots!
Happy Birthday and AWESOME giveaways! I’ve got it all over my blog post today!
I think that being more adventurous pertains to the foods we purchase and try. Most of us get stuck in ruts and I’ve never heard of either of these products. I will wait to see if I win the soda machine, but if not…I do believe I will be requesting it from santa or my husband this year! Thank you for making ME more adventurous and good luck in meeting your goals!
I think your goals pertain to both of these giveaways because you are being green (limiting packaging of soda), experimenting food (new flavors of soda! new pb!), and being more giving (having these giveaways of course!).
Happy Birth-month, girlie!!!
the goals to live greener pertain to both products because as consumers we are getting natural products, with short ingredient listings that are easy to understand and read. The soda stream eliminates buying cans or plastic bottles of soda, which in turn won’t be thrown away and wasted, and the jars of peanut butter are a way to experiment with new foods, as I always eat the same almond butter each and every time.
lo
I think we should do new year’s resolutions on our birthdays and not on New Years. That is the time to celebrate growth, and development. The older I get, the more I want to develop and not achieve…
First of all, Happy Birthday! I love your goals! I think these two products pertain to your goals because:
A. If making your own soda is not adventurous, then I’m not really sure what is! 😉
B. All natural peanut butter has 100% understandable ingredients…as does your homemade soda! (I still cant get over how cool this is!)
C. Homemade soda= less cardboard cartons and plastic bottles and whatever else the beverage may come in if you buy it off the shelves!
D. Homemade soda might not come out right all of the time and peanut butter might make a mess or it might disappear too quickly with no advanced notice….haha….but that’s totes okay because “Perfectionism” does not exist! 😀
I gave you a little linkkkaroo!
http://nutritiousisdelicious.blogspot.com/2009/11/supply-and-demandfoodie-style.html
Of course I would like three extra entries! Both of these products allow you to be super creative – flavor wise with the soda, and the options are endless with nut butters! (Stir fry sauce maybe?) ‘Pengu’ helps you cut down on waste from bottles, and both products have a short ingredient list that you can understand (as long as you know what CO2 is)!
Happy Birthday Michelle! I’d love the soda thing, I’ve seen it around blog land and it looks so cool! 😀
Wait, when is you exact birthday, my dear? I wish you were here so we can CELEBRATE!
My favorite goal of yours was this: “Not to take myself too seriously sometimes. “Perfectionism” does not exist.” Because I totally know what you mean by that. 😉
How does that apply to the two products? Well, because these two, shiny and “perfect” as they are…will fade away when the “next big thing” comes along. But hey, they’re still pretty damn cool, and perfect in their own way, right now! If we really appreciate them, then we won’t jump blindly to that next fad!
Yes! I have now linked back in my blog!
Happy Birthday!!!! The goals definitely relate because…you are giving away!! Also the ingredients in the prizes are all very good!! Hmm I want both! Haha have a great day!
I linked back, too: http://www.harpingonfitness.com/2009/11/i-just-want-my-flu-meds-i-swear-i-wont.html
Happy Birthday!!
The soda machine is green b/c it cuts down on waste by elimating the cans/bottles that soda usually comes in. I think that owning a farting penguin also helps you not to take yourself too seriously.
The PB can also be seen as contributing to the smaller footprint/green goal. When I take a pb sammich to lunch for work, I avoid getting in my car and driving to a fastfood restaurant for lunch. PB thus helps me to drive less and to use less disposable fastfood containers. The PB also helps reach the goal of understanding the ingredients in your food.
Goals:
1. The soda stream definitely applies here! It saves tons of plastic that would otherwise be used for bottles! As for Krema – since its all naturals, it doesn’t use preservatives or other chemicals that could theoretically hurt the environment.
2. Soda stream – tons of unique flavors that you can’t find in stores! Adventurous indeed! And Krema would be definitely great in adventurous ingredients!
3. Krema’s ingredients are super easy to understand! PEANUTS. And even though the soda stream flavors contain Splenda, you can control how much you put in, or use your own flavors to control that!
4. The Soda Stream allows you to experiment with all sorts of combination! And if you mess up, oh well! As for Krema, peanuts all aren’t perfect – they contain imperfections, but still okay!
5. Your giveaways are proof that you are obviously succeeding here! *Crosses fingers*

Entered both giveaways, and I think they definitely support your goals:
-The Soda Stream will definitely cut back on unnecessary packaging/bottle usage
-You can experiment with new flavors of soda, and use the Krema in new recipes (I’m thinking the hot flavor would be great in a curry)
-Could the ingredients list on the Krema jars get any simpler? 🙂
-Using a penguin soda stream sounds like a fun way to lighten up a little!
-What could be more giving than hosting a giveaway on your own birthday?
Happy Birthday!
Awww what an awesome giveaway! I’m refraining from entering, but wanted to say HAPPY BDAY anyway ::)
Also, OMG if you’re in the city, we absolutely MUST meet!!!
I’m not trying to enter the contest but I just wanted to commend you on trying to live a greener lifestyle! I am a huge advocate for it and it is the reason why I stopped eating meat.
Have a great birthday!
Less cans and making your own fizzy soda = greener and better environment
Understanding ingredient labels = eating more natural foods like the Peanut Butter, which has a list that you can actually understand!
Cheers, Happy Birthday =)
Nice goals! And great give a way, I’ve never heard of those products before!
Happy Bday!! And thanks for GIVING to us on YOUR special day 🙂 (that addresses #5).
Soda stream would be a great way to stop buying all those plastic containers as well understanding what goes into your soda as you are making it yourself! You could even be more adventurous if you try some crazy flavors or mix up your own!
Crazy Richards (or krema, but Crazy Richards is more fun) is all about minimal ingredients (#3) and deliciousness. Perfectionism (#4) might come into play if you have fun playing and being crazy with your peanut butter and eat a bit too much 😉
Gah, I missed your birthday?!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
I hope it’s a great year, Michelle! Love your goals, especially the one about looking at labels and not just numbers.
Happy happy Birthday!
I love your goals, Michelle. Living green is one of my goals, too. I’ve become more aware of being kind to the environment. I also want to be more adventurous. I think that taking risks is something I’m not very good at. I hope that I can be a more giving person, too. 🙂
Love love your goals!! I like achieving mini-goals on my way to big goals–such as this soda maker would definitely eliminate ALL the bottles I go through weekly=big green plus! And I am really trying to stick to labels I can distinguish. They say if your grandma has the ingredients in her kitchen, stick with it! PB would definitely be one of those foods! I will link back on tonights post. THANKS for the giveaway. It rocks..like always 🙂
